Crochet pattern for beginners - Pattern No. 2

Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
ch-X sp = chain-X space

Level: Beginner. 

Work a loose chain from a multiple of 4, plus 2 extra chains to complete the pattern.

R1: Work 1sc in the 2nd ch from the hook; * ch 5; skip the next 3 ch ; 1 sc in the next ch *. Repeat from * to * and finish the row with a ch of 3 to turn.

R2: Work 2dc in the sc from previous row; * 1sc in the ch-5 sp; in the next sc work: 2dc, 1ch, 2dc *. Repeat from * to * and finish the row with 1 sc in the last ch-5 sp; 3dc in the last sc from previous row; ch 1 to turn.

R3: Work 1 sc in the first dc from previous row; * ch 5; skip the next sc; 1 sc in the middle of the 4 dc from previous row ( in the ch-1 space)*. Repeat from * to * and finish the row with 1 sc in the last ch-3 sp, plus 3 extra ch to turn.

Repeat rows 2 and 3.
